Resumen
The praxis of feminist movements in their historical periods, also called feminist waves, has achieved that in various states can be consolidated a formal equality in both aspects legal and economic, in relation to the topic of gender equality. However, currently there is no real equality between the two genders. In that sense, documentary research should design, describe and explain the characteristics of the contemporary social phenomenon of the conflict between family life and working life that a woman lives in her social roles within the nuclear family. Such a conflict may be addressed from two theoretical positions, taken from feminist theories of remarkable woman such as the French Simone de Beauvoir and the American Betty Friedan. They described the conditions of gender inequality bared by woman of their time, they established the causes of subordination based on a historical inquiry and proposed models in which egalitarian society is reached by changing social values, labor flexibilization and help from public institutions to the family. It should be mentioned that the cited authors are the main exponents of feminism of equality. This investigation is based mainly on the sociological discipline, so that, the categories of social phenomenon can be explained. In that sense nuclear family and social role, can be a multidisciplinary study type, since several discipline converge in object of study.
