This research provides a theoretical inquiry in the field of reading promotion of certain indications of origin for observing some relevant aspects to carry out an effective practical. It takes into account the postulates of educating society, which opens a very fertile ground for conceptualizing unconventional places to read and write allowing access to written culture; at this point, proposed the incentive for writing as a stimulus expression, since in practice is not visible motivation for writing. The theoretical inquiry is contrasted with the systematization of experiences carried out by the author, in which the following categories of analysis are highlighted: 1) Family: basis for creating reading habits. 2) Public policies reading and writing. 3) Promotion of reading and writing in school. 4) Promotion of reading and writing in unconventional spaces: experiences of freedom and autonomy.
