Resumen
The municipality of La Calera for the year 2020 had 28,308 inhabitants distributed in urban and rural areas, according to DANE data, the municipality has shown an approximate annual population growth of 1.26%, this population and economic growth has been demanding an efficient service and supply of natural gas, leading to the limit of the current supply system. (DANE, 2020). At present, La Calera is supplied with natural gas by a system called virtual gas, a system that works through the daily transport of modules with compressed natural gas (CNG), a not very efficient and limited method whose objective is to meet the current demand of the population (Alcaldía de la Calera, 2021). Among the problems presented by the use of virtual gas in a municipality with a significant annual growth is that this system does not guarantee a continuous gas supply and limits the number of customers/hour, preventing versatility in the connection of new customers, especially those with a high consumption demand such as industrial, commercial and residential complexes (Vertical Construction). (VANTI, 2020). For such reasons there is a need to make a proposal for the construction of a transportation pipeline, which connects the municipality of La Calera with the nearest national network station 23 km away, located in the municipality of Sopo Cundinamarca and thus dispense with the virtual gas system ensuring a constant and stable supply being on par with the exponential growth of the municipality in all its economic areas where natural gas is part of the value chain (Martinez et al., 2017).
