Resumen
This study analyzes the relevance of higher education programs in Chapinero, Bogotá, in relation to labor market demands and the perceptions of key stakeholders: students, teachers, and business representatives. Using a quantitative approach, surveys were conducted with a representative sample to assess the quality and relevance of the academic programs offered in the area. The results indicate that, although higher education in Chapinero provides a diverse and high-quality academic offer, there are gaps in the development of specific professional competencies required by the labor market. Furthermore, the analysis of the relevance of higher education offerings reveals that students choose their higher education program and/or university based on socioeconomic factors and the lack of curricular adaptation to labor market needs. As a conclusion, the study highlights the need to establish stronger partnerships between universities and businesses, enhance technological skills training, and promote short- and medium-term professional development programs. Policy recommendations include fostering higher education relevance to ensure that graduates acquire the necessary skills for effective labor market integration.
