Resumen
This report documents the implementation of the 5S methodology at Fepromel S.A.S. to improve the performance of the packaging line and the raw-materials warehouse. The project began with a rapid assessment (on-site observation, walkthroughs with supervisors and checklists) to identify waste linked to disorder, excess inventory, searching time and rework in the labeling area. Based on these findings, the five phases were deployed: removal of unnecessary items; visual organization of workstations, aisles and staging points for incoming supplies; cleaning with an inspection focus; standardization through floor markings, visual codes, start-up/changeover checklists and control forms; and discipline via biweekly audits, a follow-up board and short-cycle action plans. After eight weeks, usable space was recovered, flows and transit zones were normalized, nonconformities in labeling decreased, and searching and kitting times were reduced. A 5S radar assessment showed consistent progress in order, cleanliness and discipline. The project leaves visual standards, assigned roles and an internal audit scheme to support sustainability, along with recommendations to expand 5S to other areas and connect it with safety, autonomous maintenance and continuous improvement.
