Análisis del estado actual del género Cyathea en áreas protegidas de la jurisdicción de Corpoguavio, Colombia

Abstract

The objective of the internship is to evaluate the current status of a forest species, which is cataloged within a degree of threat within the protected areas belonging to the jurisdiction of CORPOGUAVIO; For this purpose, it is intended to select a species that should be prioritized by the state of threat in which it is found and that is of special interest to the Corporation, based on the use of selection criteria, such as the records that are within the protected areas and by establishing methodologies for both the selection of the study area and for the sampling of populations, these methodologies will be defined once the species has been chosen. Field work will be carried out in search of individuals of the species, the survey of plots and sampling of the individuals within the plots. The final result will be a document that includes the description and analysis of the structure of the populations that have been sampled belonging to the species under study and that are within the protected areas of the jurisdiction, this analysis will focus on variables such as: diameter distributions, abundances and densities of individuals, which ultimately will be the basis for future management strategies for the conservation of the species. The development of this work will be carried out under the modality of internship in an estimated time of five months, which are contemplated between July and November 2023.
