Resumen
Today's environmental issues demand a change in our behavior and traditional approaches to environmental education. To achieve this, it is crucial to consider emotional aspects when developing educational programs. In this context, the question was raised about alternative pedagogical strategies to conventional environmental education, with the objective of promoting environmental awareness focused on self-care and water preservation. For this purpose, an activity based on emotions and nature as a learning scenario was designed. The methodology used included an initial characterization, the planning of various activities and the application of the story "El agua del frailejón", accompanied by storytelling activities and surveys. As a result of this study, it was concluded that it is essential to strengthen emotional awareness activities to encourage the adoption of appropriate environmental practices. The stories were highlighted as an effective pedagogical tool to address environmental education and self-care, since they stimulate imagination and creativity in a significant way
