Resumen
Roads and motorways allow for better competitive conditions for the country, which results in its developing and a better quality of life for its citizens. Most of pavemented roads in Colombia and in the world are made from Asphalt Mixtures, a petroleum product. Asphalt Mixtures are compound of rocks, mastic and air-voids and their behavior depends on the characteristics of each one of these phases, however, generally for their study they are considered as a homogeneous material. In the present work, a digital reconstruction was developed based on a set of images obtained from an asphalt sample using computerized axial tomography, then the reconstruction was segmented and rescaled in order to identify the three phases in the material and reduce the amount of data without losing reliabilty. Finally, keeping into account the physical and chemical properties in each phase, a multiphysics simulation was performed. The simulation considered a mechanic, a thermic and an oxidation process. The program was implemented in Python 2.7 using O.O.P, with U.M.L and the free software philosophy. The performed simulation scheme produced plausible results, nevertheless, it is necessary to work on more exact models.
