Resumen
This work shows a power factor analysis in a group of single-family and multi-family homes, which were previously carried out a load study to determine the energy consumption they had, the above in order to outline the parameters useful for the study . In the first instance, it was necessary to identify the measurement equipment required to record the electrical variables (voltage, current, power, energy and power factor), for which one was selected and acquired based on the Evaluation of the degree project Performance of a Voltage and Current Mesuring Device, which uses the Arduino development board. Based on the above, the respective measurements were made in each of the selected residential units and the data was collected in a micro SD memory, to transfer them to the computer and perform a data analysis by means of software. Through the analysis performed, a power factor correction system was designed and implemented for the most critical cases encountered and thereby reduce the power factor to an allowable value. Finally, a new measurement was made to the sites where the power factor correction system was located to verify the projected value and thus perform an analysis between the theoretical value and the actual recorded value.
