This document reports the main aspects considered to make a feasibility study for the construction and start-up of a work training center in heights at the Technological Faculty of the Francisco José de Caldas District University. It seeks to propose an alternative of non-formal educational services, a business for the University to increase its academic offer, benefit the community in general, and generate some additional financial resources. In the work the studies of the environment, markets, technical, financial, economic and social aspects were developed, so that the initiative of the Technological Faculty complies with the current regulations regarding the work centers at high altitudes. In order to elaborate this study, an exhaustive work was done in the collection of information and analysis of the same, in order to establish the current situation of the demand and offer sector of the training services, and to demonstrate the latent need of a training center. Training in heights. Among the data studied are the GDP growth of the main economic sectors demanding the service in recent years, the number of employees in these branches of the economy and the accident rate in Colombia due to falls in heights. Likewise, for the analysis of the internal environment, the policies of the University, the planned or current acquisitions of new locations, the political feasibility of the project and its economic and financial viability were studied. Then the market study was carried out, defining the service, in this case the training and certification in safe work at heights; The segmentation of the market to know which sectors of the industry can be offered the service; The quantification of the market segment to know the number of customers available; And finally an analysis of the main competitors. A marketing plan with four main parts was then proposed; The presentation of the service, the form of payment, a continuous training program, promotion and publicity mechanisms and their respective costs. The technical study defines the characteristics of the service, such as the size of the project, the capacity of the training center, the detailed description of the service and its content, selection of equipment, personnel and infrastructure. Finally, the results of the project were obtained through the economic, financial and social studies of the project. They included the classification and quantification of 2 Investments, costs and expenses, estimation of sales price and income projection and, to finish, the construction of the income statement and the balance sheets of the projected years and the calculation of economic evaluation parameters and social assessment indicators.
