Abstract

In this edition of Crew, participants Mario, Ana María, Juan Diego, and Duván explore the complex world of emotions. Inspired by the film Inside Out, the young people discuss basic emotions such as joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust, and wonder if there are other important ones. A guest psychologist, Ángela Campos, explains that emotions are "sensors" or "alarms" that help us react to external situations, differentiating them from feelings (the stage after emotion, mediated by thought). The program addresses the importance of experiencing all emotions for personal development and how memories are charged with emotions. Finally, in its "peace capsule," young scientists are highlighted who see science and education as a path to building peace and overcoming social problems, reinforcing the idea that curiosity and learning are key to a better future.
