Abstract

The increase in the population of the municipality of Villavicencio in the last decades has generated an increase in the economic activities of the municipality, for which the requests of the citizens of the different urban settlements of the municipality, before the municipal and regional entities have been presenting an increase in the information related to environmental and public health impacts within the urban perimeter, due to the emission of particulate matter and gases, generated by different types of sources (fixed and mobile), In the same sense, similar situations are related in rural areas where there are mainly industries dedicated to the crushing of material dragged from the rivers and whose activity is developed in the open air and that can generate affectations in the urban area of the municipality due to the wind regime, for which the Secretary of Environment of the municipality of Villavicencio has worked in the planning of strategies that allow generating diagnosis and management strategies of the air quality of the municipality and in this way guarantee a healthy environment for the people of Villavicencio.
