Resumen
In this paper the research of current conditions was conducted in environmental matters of departmental educational institution Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada, secondary headquarters, located in the municipality of Cundinamarca Suesca, with data collection tools such as observation checklists, surveys, interviews and photographic record, obtaining first-hand information of students, teachers and administrators about the importance of proper management of natural resources. We observed and analyzed the physical plant of the institution, the areas of influence, consulting business processes performed by employees in their daily work, the activities carried on campus, all this in order to determine the environmental affects that are generated in the institution. In turn entities that deal directly or indirectly with the functionality of the entity and the Local Mayor of Cundinamarca Suesca, they consulted the Departmental Secretary of Education, the Regional Autonomous Corporation (CAR), the District Department of Environment; this with the intention of checking the current legislation and regulations applying to the departmental institutions in the field of environmental education at all levels.This investigation was initiated in order to formulate the Institutional Environmental Management Plan (PIGA) for college, based on Resolution 00242 of the District Department of Environment, which by its terms is projectable, with adjustments to the municipal level or department. To determine the environmental effects in the study site, a matrix of identification and evaluation of environmental aspects and impacts, provided by the Department of Environment was used; Once these damages from their point of origin, seven programs were established environmental management, which are intended to ensure the reduction of the factors that cause environmental degradation and the efficient use of natural resources, contributing to the educational community, encouraging teamwork.
