Resumen
This paper states a pedagogical investigation which aimed to show how important it is to enhance children to know themselves and each other so they can solve conflicts in different contexts through art and games. This investigation was carried out with students (7 to 9 years old) from Fundación Michin located in Bosa, Bogota and students from Escuela Pedagógica Experimental, through workshops to develop self care and welfare processes among the participants during approximately 2 years.
In light of the above, this piece of research was linked to caring theories, self awareness and knowing others, conflicts resolution, and arts and games from authors like Comins (2003), Cajiao (2007), Boff (2002), Foucault (1948), Darino and Gomez, etc. and their practical implementation.
Its methodology was developed from participatory action research with qualitative emphasis and the pedagogy of care that allowed to build not only transformation on the personal training of the practitioners, but also on the students and their context. Also, it focuses on how relevant it is for children to know themselves and others in the classroom and along their lives to be able to grow in care and find out new abilities. This piece of research demonstrates the worth of promoting spaces to value and listen to children to improve their interpersonal relationships from their love and motivation to learn and build ideas in the educational field such us other aspects like games and art.
