The structure of the following investigation presents four chapters of an exploratory analysis of the National Environmental Education Policy of Colombia – SINA -, starting from a historical review seen from the creation, foundations, participation context, social transformation and from the relationship presented with the environmental education and management in that policy. As well, the main question was what characterizes the National Environmental Education Policy of Colombia – SINA – as a public policy during the phases of proposing and execution of it and in what way from the academy, specifically from the postgraduate academic offer, it has a direct relationship with the basis concepts aforementioned. In the same way, it was established an analysis of what are the public policies, the necessary elements for recognize them, what kind of theory and framework surround its development according to the assumptions in the start of the document and what are the various foundations both character epistemological as theoretical, with the purpose to improve an analysis in which there were emphasized the characteristics and attributes that belongs to the National Environmental Education Policy of Colombia – SINA – as a public policy, as well as recognizing the academic production (degree works or theses available in university repositories) related with the above mentioned themes and of the postgraduate programs from six universities in Bogota D.C. taken as research sample. Finally, there are the conclusions and findings of this investigation.
