Resumen
This research proposal is the outcome of a teaching experience in class, its approach looks forward to make possible for students of a private institution of Bogota, the understanding of the order and equivalence of fractions in their different representations (graphic, natural language, percentage and decimal number). Fractions have been a subject matter in some researches, some of this researches have the purpose of providing ideas to support the process of learning and teaching of fractions into a mathematics class. It has been an evidence that students have found difficult to compare and order fractions and also to write equivalents expressions to a given fraction. Those difficulties were also found within the students' answers in the inquiry test implemented at the beginning research. For this reason, a set of tasks proposed from the principles of Realistic Mathematical Education (EMR) was designed and implemented, in this implementation the students explored comparison phenomena that included processes of order and equivalence between fractions, the interpretation of the fraction as part-whole relationship and the use of different expressions to refer to fractions. From this implementation, the students' productions are described and analyzed, this descriptive-interpretative study is carried out taking as reference the levels of understanding and principles of the EMR.
