Resumen
The majority of the rural settlers reside around the forests, even inside these, therefore the products extracted of wild plants are used mainly for sustenance; However in the last decades, population growth and globalization have generated an increase in the pressure of natural resources and are not far from the traditional knowledge of indigenous peoples. In the municipalities of Purificación and Prado, located in the south of the state of Tolima, there are a total of 6 ethnic minorities, but 4 of them were the objective of this study: Aco Viejo-Patio Bonito, Yaporogos Taira, Chenche Asoleado and Los Poimas, Where Non-Timber Forest Products used by these communities were characterized, in addition to identifying the forms and sites of use; A catalog was then made to record the native plant species of greatest importance for the four communities and the veredales maps of the municipalities, where the sites where the plant material was extracted and where the surveys were carried out.
