Fortalecimiento del sistema de información consis tools IBM por medio de la integración del gestor de bases de datos DB2

Abstract

For many companies, information is the most valuable asset since it influences decisions that significantly affect your business. This means that the loss of any data can have consequences that negatively affect the company. For this reason IBM Colombia saw the need to have a centralized tool for the management of the databases that store the corresponding information of each of the clients and their interaction with the Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) program, which is in charge of manage backup events, storage policies, storage media, restores and security rules. This tool is known in IBM as CONSIS (Systemic Control). And it is designed under different programming languages. The general objective of this project is to strengthen the information system CONSIS TOOLS by means of the modification of the codes implemented in the RUBY and JAVA programming languages ​​to achieve a correct migration of the database manager, from MySQL to DB2 guaranteeing the integration of the system's own functionalities and consolidation of the backups made through the interaction with the TSM of each client.
