Repertorio fonemático para la imitación del sonido instrumental en el canto a capella

Abstract

This research addresses the phenomenon of vocal instrument imitation, a practice that has gained presence in contemporary music despite its lack of formal documentation in Spanish. Although instrumental music historically dominated much of the Western repertoire, the voice has evolved to become an expressive medium capable of replicating instrumental sounds with precision, especially in genres such as beatboxing. This phenomenon, originating in the context of 1970s and 80s Hip Hop, has transcended its initial rhythmic function to integrate into multiple musical styles, demonstrating the versatility of the human voice as a sonic tool.

The project's main objective is to consolidate the practice of vocal instrumental imitation through the creation of reference and consumption material, which will serve both singers and musicians interested in this type of performance. Through original compositions and arrangements, the thesis proposes a systematization of this technique, highlighting its growing relevance in the global musical landscape and its potential as an autonomous art form. The lack of prior documentation in the Spanish language further motivates the need for this research.
