Resumen
The topography has been classified as one of the oldest arts and has shown its importance since more remote times, because it has always been necessary to define and divide land boundaries; It has also been defined as the ability to measure horizontal and vertical distances between points and objects on the earth's surface. In this way it has been indicated, that this serves as a basis for a large number of engineering projects. Torres, A. and Villate, E., Currently this feature of the topography has been strengthened in view of the topographic surveys that can be obtained from the land surface, used for projects such as road infrastructure, installation of hydraulic and electrical networks, construction of drainages, dams; In the same way, information can be obtained for the layout of air, maritime and terrestrial navigation charts, and it is even used to distinguish the different land uses. Having said this, it is possible to show the fields of action that the Topography has and the importance of this in the development of the country, because with these topographical studies it is possible to solve a certain number of problems that contain a socio-economic factor in Colombia. (Vargas et al., 2008) The topography in Colombia has been exercised since a long time before the independence of our country. Francisco José de Caldas, one of the promoters of the topography in Colombia during the colonial era, today the District University is proud to bear his name. The District University, initially known as the Municipal School of Bogotá, was the first higher education institution to offer the country Graduates in Topography, and now has the curricular projects called Topographic Engineering and Technology in Topographic Surveys, which was previously known under the name of Technology in Topography. (Usa, 2011) The curricular project Technology in Topographic Surveys aims to offer integral professionals with the ability to respond to the needs of the community and the development of the country through a pedagogical system focused on research programs. («Misión, Visión - Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas», s. f.) Having mentioned the above, it is necessary to make known that in Colombia there is a Qualified Registry, through which the quality of a higher education program can be verified, in addition to being absolutely necessary to be offered to society and so that A program is accredited with high quality. High quality accreditation has gradually become essential for the different universities in the country, because thanks to this process, the population can be shown the quality and results of the program that is being offered. («CNA - La calidad en la Acreditación Institucional», s. f.) The monitoring of their graduates by higher education programs can be a beneficial process for them, since if you know the performance in the workplace and research of the professional who has been trained you can provide feedback to the curricular project to analyze if improvements must be made in the syllabus and in the pedagogical methods that are being used.
