Proceso de paz del Movimiento 19 de Abril (M-19) con el gobierno de Virgilio Barco. "Subvertir la Paz, Negociar la Democracia"

Abstract

In this investigation are addressed determining aspects in the peace process between Movimiento 19 de abril and the government of Virgilio Barco, providing a perspective since the beginning of the Colombian armed conflict from historical facts like the bipartisanship and the National Front. The conflict is characterized from theoretical references as a fundamental element in the prolongation of the insurrectional war and its possibility of negotiated exit at different moments of history. Describes some aspects that define the guerrilla of the M-19, its action and political proposal. This investigation presents an overview of Colombian context with an emphasis on the period 1986-1990. It is concluded the negotiation process is a reference for political participation of armed groups in the democratic tradition of the country.
