Resumen
Document focused on recovering and collecting the material of traditional music, in this case, music from the mountains of Cauca and thus generate a primordial movement of diffusion. Two compositions and two arrangements were made in the traditional of the department of Cauca in their most autochthonous formation (two flutes of reed, two tamboras, snare, charrasca and mates or maracas) and adapted to a jazz format (two saxophones, guitar electric, double bass and drums). Simultaneously we talk about how music creates an identity and this serves to build a nation. At the same time, the two formats are discussed; in chirimia the genre is contextualized and in jazz we talk about the main groups in Colombia that have experimented with traditional and modern music and their influences.
