Resumen
The research presented here is a literary analysis of the novel La escuela de música by Pablo Montoya; in this it is proposed to understand that the music, besides constituting an element that allows reading the work as a novel of formation, serves as a novelable resource that allows that it is cataloged as part of a defined novelistic form as a musical novel. To this end, the study starts from the theoretical-literary review of genres and subgenres that serve as necessary background for the theorization of the characteristics that define the musical novel; to this is presented a tour of the literary works that, within the Colombian literary field, determine the trajectory of novelistic form exposed above and ends with the analysis of the novel object of analysis in the light of what conceptualized previously.
