Resumen
In this grade work presents a general methodology to design a backup system that use the photovoltaic technology as an energy source and where service interruptions are considered as a factor for the system sizing. Initially, these service interruptions are analyzed to obtain representative values using Monte Carlo simulation method, which are used for dimensioning the main components of Photovoltaic System Backup (PSB). After, methodological criteria and considerations are proposed for the selection and sizing of the principal components of the photovoltaic system. For two selected case studies, the methodology proposed is applied to design and implement a PSB that will be put into operation under specific test conditions to verify their behavior. In evaluating performance during tests is verified that the inclusion of PSB improves continuity in the power supply to the loads during service interruptions presented.
