Resumen
Currently, one of the issues that most concerns humanity is caring for the environment, which is why the concept of ecotourism is developed and implemented. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) defines it as any activity that takes place in nature. where the tourist is interested in observing and appreciating the environment, minimizing the negative impacts on the natural and sociocultural environment. In the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, goals are established that seek to conserve and preserve natural resources, in addition to seeking the economic and social well-being of the people who inhabit the territories; ecotourism contributes directly or indirectly to the fulfillment of these objectives. Agrotourism, according to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), is defined as activities related to nature, agriculture, livestock, lifestyles and visits to places of interest, where people normally stay in country houses to have direct contact with these activities; The implementation of ecotourism and agrotourism in the different municipalities of the country is important since it serves as a strategy for the protection and conservation of natural resources and the different species of flora and fauna, also allowing people to know the culture and traditions of the territories. According to the Territorial Planning Scheme (2020), of the municipality of Zipacón, in this territory you can find different species of herbivorous vertebrates, birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles; As for the flora, there are species such as: Encenillo, Guarumo, Nogal, Tuno, Chuguacá, Arrayán, Maco Amarillo, Cumino, Manzano Caimo, among others. Thus, ecotourism and agrotourism contribute to the benefit of communities to strengthen sustainable development in the economic, social and environmental fields, creating awareness among tourists and providing positive experiences; It is important to publicize the ecotourism potential of the regions and that the State commits itself, together with the territorial entities, to support this type of projects that help to manage and conserve natural resources. The present work seeks to analyze the ecotourism potential of the municipality of Zipacón, in a comparative way according to the conditions of the different towns, both in terms of the possible attractions and the socioeconomic and infrastructure conditions that they have for their eventual development.
