Resumen
Official DANE figures estimate that there are 5.58 million informal workers, a large part of them do not make their health and pension contributions. Based on the above, it has been tedious to quantify the real number of work accidents that occurred in automotive mechanic workshops, since many of them are not reported and/or attended to correctly since the workers do not contribute to the social security system. Automotive mechanics as a work activity involves risks to the health of workers. Added to the informality of the sector, it is necessary to start awareness work among workers about the dangers to which they are exposed, their degree of vulnerability and the probability of suffering a work accident or occupational disease. Considering the informality of automotive mechanic workshops and the accident rate, there is a need to know how the identification and prevention of risks can reduce the probability of accidents and occupational diseases that occur in the execution of work activities in a workshop. automotive mechanic?
