A social requirement to work, as it is to be a bachelor is what the project "Women for Life” of Instituto Distrital para la protección de la Niñez y la Juventud (IDIPRON), which provides the opportunity to students of the Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose De Caldas to carry out an internship where a teaching-learning alternative of biological concepts related to the endocrine system, hormones and mechanisms of hormonal action was planned and executed using the teaching-for-understanding (EpC) approach. When inquiring and observing the learning response of this group of women facing the knowledge of their body is fascinating to see that relate to what happened to their bodies in menarche, gestation and menopause. The understanding of the themes, the multiple ways of seeing the world of these women came into communion when discussing issues of female hormones which aroused great interest in finally knowing the mechanisms of hormonal action and the elements involved in them, generating Appropriation for her body and pride of her condition as a woman, life-giving and able to generate different hormones in different concentrations and stages of development. The women arrived with a new topic of discussion to their home took to the home the contents comprised in the classroom demonstrating the level of mastery in the dimension of communication described in the framework of the EpC.
