Resumen
A qualitative research was carried out through a social network sample which contributed to the analysis of online spaces as a virtual public sphere for deliberation and reasoned communicative argumentation. This space was designed based on the rules and principles of social network for political and deliberative purposes within school settings for sixth grader students located in the United States and Colombia. The experience made it possible to analyze, based students' reflections and their participation in the project, the role of education in public and political debates in virtual settings, such as social networks and/or the virtual public sphere. Consequently, the role of education in general, and of education in technology or with technology, must provide spaces that, although simulated, allow training, appropriation and a reflective and critical attitude regarding the importance and influence of these scenarios for deliberation in accordance with the political work of Habermas (1997)
