Resumen
The purpose of this research was to find out how the process of teaching environmental education has been based on the experience and interests of the children of cycle two of the Costa Rica District Educational Institution of the city of Bogotá, in order to build an alternative curriculum that links both elementary and middle school children, mainly with the purpose of recognizing childhood as the primary axis in educational processes, and set a precedent in the practice of environmental education from the experience and children's interests as the main actors of education, to achieve greater agreement between the educational object and the childhood subject. From the epistemological perspective, this work presents education as a reflexive practice and is based on materialist theory and critical pedagogy as a foundation, where it seeks to give an active participation to the student in the practice of teaching, recognizing him as a transforming subject of his reality and free of submission. For this, a qualitative research was implemented from the pedagogical action research, and a critical hermeneutical analysis, where we find three phases of the project; the first was the recognition of the interests of boys and girls in primary school, by young people on average; the second phase was an experience activity for boys and girls of medium strength; and finally the construction of an alternative curriculum constructed under the socio-critical paradigm, with the aim of institutionalizing it in the curricular mesh of environmental education, of which the interests and experiences of children should be considered in the processes of teaching from the significance for the subject of the contents.
