Resumen
This research elaborates an interpretation of scientific racism from the contents of natural sciences present in the eighth and ninth grade textbooks published in Colombia during the years 1980-1990 and 2000-2010. This interpretation was carried out within the framework of the research line: Teaching science, context and cultural diversity, and under the proposal of the textbook as an artifact of intercultural mediation. The results allow to open the debate in Colombia, in the field of didactics of science and educational policies, about the role of school science, in the transmission of racial ideological conceptions and in the permanence of a racialized hegemony in the curriculum of natural sciences, that although in the investigation they have been identified through the contents of the textbooks, it is possible to demonstrate them among others, in constructs and discourses of science, medicine, politics, the media and daily life.
