Resumen
At present, cannabis is the most used psychotropic plant among young people worldwide where the majority begins its consumption before the age of 18, thus awakening a great interest on its effects at the brain level in the general population, so that in this research the effects of C. sativa and its influence on the cerebellum in male and female student consumers (n = 16), compared with healthy controls (n = 16), were evaluated through volumetric analysis and measurements taken with Structural Magnetic Resonances, differentiating frequency factors, years and onset of consumption, thus establishing a possible decrease and greater involvement on the left hemisphere of the cerebellum in women at an earlier age of onset of consumption in relation to men, however, men, in addition to presenting a bidirectional decrease in the hemispheres, manage to exhibit a greater predisposition to generate greater tolerance and depend Decency for the substance with respect to women. However, being a pilot test, a larger scale replica is suggested to confirm and generate strategies to mitigate the possible morphological and neurocognitive changes presented by habitual and early cannabis use.
