Sectoral technical standards have been developed as a management mechanism for sustainability in search of responsible growth of tourist destinations, harmonizing economic and social development objectives with the comprehensive management of their environmental impacts. This paper aims to formulate and implement the sustainability requirements stipulated in the Colombian Technical Sectoral Standard NTS - TS 001-1. Tourist destinations - Tourist area. Sustainability requirements. 2014, for the Zoonatura Butterfly in the municipality of Villeta-Cundinamarca. The methodological development was carried out in three phases; the first is the diagnostic phase, where the records, documents and sustainability requirements of the organization were analyzed, the second is the formulation which was developed according to the diagnosis, the plans, programmes, actions and/or activities for the fulfillment of the requirements are established, finally the implementation phase was carried out where the mechanisms of action and implementation are established, which will be periodically, according to the protocols and requirements specified in the standard. The successful implementation of each of the sustainability requirements of the NTS - TS 001-1, will allow Zoonatura, improve its tourism quality by responding to the challenge of the tourism sector to responsibly exercise its activities in order to improve the competitiveness of the sector hand in hand with the systemic responsible use and its availability in the territories.
