Modelo de negocio para la producción de cacao en grano (Theobroma cacao L.) y madera de abarco (Cariniana pyriformis Miers) mediante sistema agroforestal, en el municipio de Santa Helena del Opón, Santander

Abstract

This project focuses on the structuring of a business model for the production of cocoa and abarco wood in the municipality of Santa Helena del Opón, through an agroforestry system, responding to the appropriate use of the land according to its vocation. A descriptive approach is addressed in the characterization of the market and the engineering of the project. Likewise, through an exploratory approach, it is determined whether the selected alternative is viable from a financial point of view and the economic benefits that could be obtained from the carbon storage service in the agroforestry system are quantified, taking available secondary information as a reference. Based on the market, technical and financial analysis, it is concluded that the proposed business model is viable. In addition, the incorporation of carbon sales mechanisms can represent 6.1 to 20.2 million additional pesos to the NPV of the project. It was found that access to credits and financial incentives improves financial indicators and is key to cushioning negative effects on the profitability of the project in the face of possible risk scenarios.
