Resumen
After consolidating in the year of 1993 as the investigative branch of the National Environmental System (SINA), the Alexander von Humboldt Institute assumes the great responsibility of the national biodiversity inventory that until then was being used by INDERENA. Result of the transition between institutions. The collection of mammals of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute manifests a series of problems regarding the inventory and general state of the collection. The present work develops 6 curating processes that have the purpose of addressing these difficulties: The General Inventory Stage which allowed the recognition of the physical content of the collection and its associated problems; Recognition and Location stage that allowed the maintenance and care of the specimens as well as the organization and spatial management of the collection; Georeferencing stage which retrieves, confirms and generates new geographic information associated with the capture events; Review stage of Trap Cameras in the framework of the Boyacá Bio project; Digitalization stage that facilitates national and international consultation and finally the Pedagogical and Scientific Visits Stage process that makes the knowledge of mammals available to the community in general. The proposed methodology is through the application of computer tools, digital and theoretical references on curatorship processes in biological collections. The curation processes carried out allowed the collection of mammals to improve the physical condition and the quality of the information associated with the specimens deposited therein, improving the adequate handling of data and allowing an appropriate management.
