Resumen
In this study, a bitemporal analysis of mining activity in Soacha will be carried out from 2015 to 2023 through the use of satellite images and Geographic Information System GIS. In order to determine the significant changes in the study area and also determine if the expansion of mining has increased over the years. The statistical method used in this research was Linear Regression, for which the Simple Linear Regression equation was used. This made it possible to determine the trend of the data, which in turn made it possible to project changes in the mining extension for the year 2031. In general, the results obtained show that the constant growth of mining activity has significantly affected the environment. According to this data, forests have shrunk and the distribution of other types of vegetation cover has changed. Furthermore, judging by the trends, we can assume that, in the future, the expansion of mining will continue to lead to significant changes in vegetation. In conclusion, this study provides useful information to address environmental challenges due to the impact of mining in the municipality of Soacha and in relation to this, establish the necessary foundations for sustainable management of natural resources.
