Resumen
In the decad of the 40th, was born in the Atlantic Cost one of the most important discograph company of Colombia: Industrias Fonograficas de Barranquilla and its label Discos Tropical; important national artists were recording in this studios, and many of his hits still are strong in the market. Discos Tropical also was distributing under liscenses of companys as CBS, Odeón and Columbia, recordings of foreign artists, of different musical generes as: Guarachas, Boleros, Tangos, Valses, Bulerias, and many others.
The Productions of Industrias Fonográficas de Barranquilla and its label Discos Tropical was marked for many decads an important milestone for the fonografic local industry: However, it has not yet been sufficiently documented its scope and its big impact to the musical memories of the country. This Work, contributes to the knowledgde of the music and the musicians were recorded in this and whose legacy makes part of the pieces in the Fondo Sonoro Antonio Cuéllar.
This Work has entered in the catalogue that has the Centro de Documentación de las Artes Gabriel Esquinas related with the label Discos Tropical, the sound digitalization and the images of 511 musical pieces, the transcription of four this ones, and the artistic review of five colombian interpreters relevants inside the catalog and an activities field diary or a binnacle developed into the internship.
