Resumen
Colombia is a country that has suffered the harshness of war since before becoming a nation. This territory for centuries has had the incessant company of violence. For this reason, it is not strange to find daily headlines and covers that speak about the violation of Human Rights (HR) in each and every one of the social spheres. Since 1991, with the National Political Constitution (CPN) of Colombia, the State assumes the main function as guarantor of human rights in the national territory, likewise, it undertakes to protect and enforce indistinctly each of the national treaties and international. However, the worsening of the war of the Colombian State with armed groups outside the law, drug traffickers, criminal structures and the appearance of paramilitary structures have brought death, displacement, torture and other humiliations that violate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In the same way, the implementation of state policies that exacerbates existing social problems such as inequality, lack of education, health management as a business, forced disappearance, kidnapping, murder of leaders among many other, allow to glimpse the inability of the Colombian State to assume the fulfillment of each one of these treaties. Due to the foregoing, it is not surprising that society in general naturalizes, accepts, reproduces and justifies all kinds of violent behavior. In this case, the school as a social institution in charge of the transmission of social guidelines and values that allow the student to function in daily life, is immersed in the reality of the country. For this reason, the actors that come together in it need comprehensive and transversal training in human rights that allows children and adolescents to go from the passive posture that they have been assuming thanks to vertical and hierarchical education, to activation and empowerment as active subjects of rights. For this reason, this project carried out with the students of courses 501 and 507 of the Liceo Femenino Mercedes Nariño (LFMN) District Educational Institution (IED) located in the city of Bogotá- Colombia seeks to activate and empower students as active subjects of rights through training in human rights with a focus on childhood and adolescence from a critical perspective under the modality of Educational Action Research (IAE).
