Resumen
The research project EXTRA, EXTRA: "THE NEWS AND READING, THE MEETING IN THE CLASSROOM" arises from the recognition and importance of reading in training and development of human beings. For it is carried out an investigative journey that part of the observation and analysis of the practice in the classroom focused on teaching practices and learning to read; after this epistemological, pedagogical and educational tour is done, taking as reading comprehension of journalistic texts, to thereby achieve inform and provide guidelines to initiate changes in current practices and conceptions of teachers and students on the reading process. Then the methodological design, which is part of the hermeneutical paradigm, with qualitative method and under the guidance of the research design action, to thus adopt a route to guide research and establish categories of analysis and intervention plan presented . From the above disclosed the results derived from the application of the workshops and thus present how the cognitive process took place in the students to reach the reading comprehension of newspaper text.
