Resumen
This work presents a proposal for an Environmental Management System for Aldía Bodegas Certificadas S.A.S., a company dedicated to the temporary storage of medical devices and in vitro reagents. The initiative arises from the need to strengthen regulatory compliance and optimize environmental performance within the organization’s operational processes. An initial diagnosis identified weaknesses in hazardous waste management, energy consumption, and emergency preparedness, highlighting the importance of developing strategies that promote sustainability and an environmental culture within the company. The main objective was to design and implement technical tools to enhance environmental management in alignment with ISO 14001:2015, ensuring operational sustainability, impact control, and compliance with applicable regulations. The methodology was applied and descriptive, involving document review, checklists, assessment of environmental aspects and impacts, the design of management plans, and training sessions for technical and operational staff. Findings revealed that the company maintains a robust documentation system consistent with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards; however, it requires reinforcement in waste management, resource efficiency, and environmental risk prevention. As a result, three key tools were developed: the Comprehensive Waste Management Plan, the Emergency and Contingency Plan, and the Efficient Energy Use Program, complemented by staff training sessions focused on safety, occupational health, and sustainability practices. It is concluded that this proposal provides a solid foundation for implementing an integrated Environmental Management System tailored to the company’s specific operations. The proposed model fosters continuous improvement, environmental compliance, and the consolidation of an organizational culture committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
