In this degree work, the design of a fire protection system for the ABC school is proposed, in order to meet the security needs of the building, to comply with the guidelines for buildings for institutional use, established in the regulations Colombian building earthquake resistant NSR 10 and offering an active protection system as a high performance solution, which will allow a timely and efficient response to a fire outbreak. The proposal consists of the integral design of the fire protection system with nebulized water, with Hi-Fog technology, whose extinguishing agent is water that when passing through the nebulizer nozzles, at high pressure is thrown in the form of microdrops of water, with the appearance of fog; When in contact with the fire, the water in this state evaporates rapidly, which generates an immediate decrease in the temperature of the room, in turn the water, when evaporating, increases its volume, which generates a displacement of the oxygen levels in the room. environment, this behavior of the water allows eliminating 2 of the 3 elements of the fire triangle, thereby extinguishing the fire. The proposed design was developed with 100% architectural coverage, includes the design memories, the specifications of each of the components, the design plans, the approximate supply and installation budget, and the feasibility analysis of its implementation. In this design, reliable engineering methodologies were applied in public and private entities, they can also be supervised and inspected by the competent authorities, at the same time, the standards in norm 750 of the National Fire Protection Association were taken into account, where it establishes the minimum criteria for the use of water mist.
