Resumen
This document presents the design, development, and implementation of an automated prototype aimed at saving and efficiently using drinking water in residential settings. The work addresses the critical issue of water waste in Bogotá, where factors such as domestic misuse, unequal consumption between social strata, and climatic phenomena such as El Niño have put the supply at risk, with reservoirs at critical levels and daily consumption per capita at 76.32 liters. As a solution, the RESCUE 5.0 system was built, which integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, YF-S201 flow sensors, proportional servo valves, and a PID control to regulate the flow in sinks, dishwashers, and showers. It also includes a Nextion TFT touchscreen as a graphical interface, a voice assistant using DFPlayer-MP3, and a server in MATLAB for remote monitoring and real-time data analysis. The device allows users to select modes of use, view consumption, receive auditory assistance, and control water expenditure accurately, promoting responsible and sustainable habits in households. In conclusion, this project provides an innovative, accessible, and adaptable technological tool that seeks to significantly reduce water waste in Bogotá, contributing to both environmental care and citizen awareness.
