Resumen
This report documents the activities carried out during the internship at the Administrative Department for Social Prosperity, focused on strengthening the Zero Waste Management System to obtain and maintain the certification granted by ICONTEC. Strategies were developed for efficient waste management, including the measurement and control of environmental indicators, training and awareness-raising for public servants, and the optimization of waste source separation and final disposal processes for recoverable, non-recoverable, and hazardous waste. Through data monitoring and analysis at the Central Level and in certified regional offices, a reduction in separation errors and progress in consolidating circular economy practices within the organization were evidenced. The implementation of sanitary routes and emergency simulation exercises strengthened the system’s operational capacity, allowing Social Prosperity to improve its environmental performance and contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to responsible production and consumption, sustainable cities, and climate action.
