Resumen
In the formation of the modern world / colonial system, one of its axes was the mining exploitation in Latin America, which contributes to the underdevelopment of the continent. In the twentieth century, the oil extractivist enclaves in Venezuela, copper in Chile and tin in Bolivia, stopped the industrial and agricultural development, leaving a strong ecological and social footprint. Over the past 30 years, a similar model has been regressed, but the environmental crisis generated is producing important mobilizations and novel theories such as the defense of the place and the interrelation by networks from the local to the global. If we take into account all the experience of the continent in this field, the project of "the mining locomotive" in Colombia cannot be different and risks deindustrialization, socio-environmental conflicts and the destruction of the environment. In this work we investigated and analyzed the aspects related to the socio-environmental crisis caused by the implementation of a public policy of development in extractivism in Colombia and specifically in the municipality of Cajamarca, Tolima, and how this has led to the community a propose strategies that provide an alternative model of development from the local level.
