Resumen
Ulex europaeus is a species with high invasive potential that alters the habitats it colonizes. The presence of this species is associated with ecosystems that exhibit some level of degradation. Due to its characteristics, it poses a threat to the biodiversity of native environments where it is introduced. Research on this invasive species is scarce, making it a challenge to understand the state of the art and the characteristics of publications on U. europaeus. Therefore, this work, in addition to updating the data from the book La investigación sobre Ulex europaeus: una aproximación bibliométrica by Beltrán-Gutiérrez (2021), aims to clarify the state of the art on gorse and determine the characteristics of scientific activity around this species using bibliometric laws and indicators. In addition, the general and specific publication topics developed by the articles found in the Web of Science and Scopus databases were established. Sixty-one articles were found from which data such as year and language of publication, received citations, number of authors per article, journal quartiles, FWCI scores, Impact Factor, SJR, among others, were extracted. It was found that systematic reviews help understand the state of research on a specific topic and provide data on impact, collaboration, citation, among others, and also that the origin of journals and language of publication are factors that have a great influence on the visibility and impact of scientific publications, among other findings.
