From the problems faced by primary school students in the understanding of scientific concepts and their subsequent adverse effect on the development of scientific skills, it is proposed to design, implement, evaluate, and validate the incidence of an VLO based on analog activities that promote the development of scientific skills of understanding, explanation, and inquiry, in the subject of human nutrition to a group of 23 students of grade 4 of the Marony Gymnasium School. A convergent mixed methodological approach was applied, resulting in an increase in the performance of the students' scientific skills, demonstrating that the VLOhad a medium or moderate incidence with values in Cohen's Δ of 0.55 in post-test1 and 0.46 in post-test 2. Concluding that there is a significant increase in scientific skills when using the VLO, allowing the strengthening of these, given their innovative, interesting, and easily accessible characteristics for students, in addition to urging teachers to continue the design, as well as the implementation of ICT tools such as VLOs within their strategies for teaching and strengthening scientific skills in the classroom.
