Lineamientos estratégicos para el manejo sustentable del cultivo de arroz en la Vereda La Sierra, Municipio de Lérida, Departamento del Tólima

Abstract

Due to the interruption of the irrigation service for rice crops in drought seasons, and water pollution due to the excessive use of agrochemicals in the village of the Sierra (Lérida, Tolima), It is necessary to adopt appropriate agronomic practices are orient the cultivation of small agricultural producers under sustainability criteria. For strategic guidelines were developed to move sustainable development of rice cultivation, based on the use of diverse methodological tools such as social cartography, which aimed to build a comprehensive knowledge of the situation of rice cultivation and the social interactions that develop around it. Subsequently, with the application of socio-environmental analysis instruments such as the baseline environmental basis which allowed a description of the area of ​​influence of the project with based on the actual state information of the abiotic, biotic, socioeconomic components and cultural impact assessment and the environmental impact assessment, which prioritized the according to the methodology of qualification by importance. Based on the above, we analyzed the social impacts and the degree of reach and compliance with the current environmental normativity in Colombia. Subsequently,The quantification of farmers' costs and expenses for rice production in a given period was elaborated, together with an assessment and subsequent classification of environmental costs derived from current crop management practices. Then, the cost to be adopted was estimated the sustainable management strategies in the crop, and the difference between the value current monetary policy, and the costs to be avoided through the implementation of the themselves. Finally, with the development of the fourth objective, Answers were given quantifiable and independent, based specifically on the Sustainable Agriculture scenario for the period from 2015 to 2038, so that they were formulated, classified and key variables affecting the achievement of the project objective, the most favorable scenario according to the results obtained with the use of software Naiade and the AHP (Hierarchical Analysis Process) methodology and and various actions were taken to ensure the sustainability of rice cultivation in the village of the Sierra, Tolima.
