Resumen
Today, organizations have a large amount of information that is collected from the execution of the processes that they carry out in their daily tasks through files, information systems, databases, external information, between others. But they do not have a methodology that allows organizing, structuring and transforming this information for analysis and interpretation, so that they can be used in decision-making under the strategic guidelines of the company and become knowledge for those responsible for the business.
The purpose of this study is to give the MSMEs that do not have the experience in the management of this technology the guidelines of how to carry out the implementation of business intelligence so that they can acquire a better understanding of themselves and the ability to exploit their information in support of the achievement of the strategic objectives.
As a result there is a project in which a series of strategies are proposed that allow a Mipyme to begin the implementation of business intelligence, also proposed the use of some tools that exist in the market and through these organize, manage and visualize information to support strategic decision-making.
This work brings together the basic ingredients needed to tackle a business intelligence project, both conceptually and technically, with the necessary granularity and not found in any other document, for an inexperienced professional to achieve this implementation, although it is not intended to be a manual, if it can be seen as a guide or a starting point to face this challenge.
The theoretical framework seeks to provide the conceptual bases necessary to have a common vocabulary, although it may seem extensive, it seeks that whoever implements a project of this type, has the necessary bases to understand the problem that faces, However, the technical aspect is also examined in greater depth.
It presents and proposes ways or means to parameterize the tools and solutions currently available in the market, free tools that do not require initial investment, since it is understood that many MSMEs do not have enough resources.
The fact of presenting a strategy as a methodological guide, with the components of Planning, Design, Implementation and Validation, enriched structurally with a robust conceptual framework, Added to the proposal of using free tools and with the level of technical granularity necessary for any MSMEs that decides to face this challenge achieve its implementation, it is considered the greatest contribution of this work.
