Resumen
Parcheesi is a traditional board game that in this research was adapted as a didactic resource to mediate the teaching-learning process of high school students in the area of Spanish Language. Its adaptation contains the seven competences (grammatical, textual or discursive, semantic, pragmatic or socio-cultural, encyclopedic, literary and poetic competence) raised in the curricular guidelines in the area of language and is oriented to communication and meaning. The didactic resource presented here has the virtue of being modified according to the theme, structure, content or purpose of the class. Its adaptation, use and application will be detailed in the development of this work through a didactic sequence. Finally, this work demonstrated that the adaptation of the traditional Parcheesi game constitutes an effective pedagogical tool for meaningful learning in the area of the spanish language.
