Resumen
This project is set in rural Colombia, emphasizing that limited access to reliable electricity represents a persistent challenge, especially in remote areas such as the Burila district in the municipality of Caicedonia, Valle del Cauca. Therefore, it focuses on designing and evaluating a photovoltaic system that can sustainably and efficiently meet the energy demands of a home located in this area, using the specialized software PV*Sol premium 2025 as a technical and economic analysis tool. The proposed design considers that the system should be composed of 20 (600 Wp) monocrystalline solar panels, among other equipment necessary for its proper operation. This set of components was selected based on the actual energy requirements of the property, which highlights the importance of having specialized tools to ensure the precision of the system's application. One of the main objectives of this project is to analyze the economic perspective. The total estimated investment amounts to $21,585,000 COP, with a payback period of approximately seven years, considering the projected annual savings in energy services. From this point on, the system would begin to generate direct economic benefits, confirming its viability in the medium term. This project not only offers a viable solution for the housing in question but also presents itself as a replicable model for other rural areas with similar conditions, supporting national energy transition and climate change mitigation objectives, in line with Law 1715 of 2014, CONPES 4015, and the National Energy Plan 2020–2050.
