Resumen
A degree proposal that proposed a Virtual Environment for learning English as a second language including pedagogical, didactic and technological elements that invite third grade students of a private institution in the city of Bogota in the town of Engativá, to explore and generate knowledge through motivation, interaction with other users and with the learning environment, presents as references legislation of the Ministry of National Education regarding the proposals of bilingualism programs of 2004 and the "Guide 22 Basic standards of competencies in foreign languages: English". Within the theoretical framework, the positions of diverse authors such as Stephen Krashen stand out, regarding language acquisition and the direct relationship that learning a second language has when immersed in real learning scenarios. He also relates the importance of acquiring vocabulary and in this way accessing communication channels, generating an opportunity to relate with others through the development of basic language skills (reading, speaking, listening). The above is related to the significant learning approach proposed by Ausubel, Novak and Pozo, where they highlight as the main factor, the role of the student in the learning generating environments. Integrating the aforementioned elements with educational resources, the Environment is built, with a specific theme and related contents; it is also evident that from the objectives and questions, conclusions and projections are generated, highlighting it as a fundamental element in the construction of learning.
